THEIA — Light Object (2017)

Light object dis­played at the the­atre ball in Regens­burg 2017.

Theia is a spher­i­cal light object, 2m in diam­e­ter, made of 560 indi­vid­ual con­trol­lable full color LED bulbs. The struc­ture is build from laser cut wood, steel wire and alu­minium tub­ing. The con­trollers were designed, built and pro­grammed by Mar­tin Pesold.

Design­ing and cod­ing a frame­work in Action­script which can be used to quickly develop mul­ti­me­dia appli­ca­tions with real­time com­mu­ni­ca­tion sup­port, asset han­dling and sync­ing from sev­eral remote ser­vices. Part of my job also was to sup­port devel­op­ers using this frame­work and help build­ing inter­ac­tive appli­ca­tions on cus­tom hard­ware. The frame­work will be used at SharafDG’s flag­ship store in Dubai.
